Robert J. Gordon, 64, of Tribes Hill, passed away on Saturday, Oct., 5, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer with his loving family by his side. He was of the Roman Catholic Faith. Born February 18, 1949 to the late Carl and Regina Gordon, Robert spent most of his life living in the area. He was an employee of General Electric Co., in Schenectady, as a welder. Robert's passion was bowling, hunting and fishing. He enjoyed being outdoors. Robert also enjoyed socializing with family and friends at various restaurants. He was a family man and was able to spend his final months in the care of his son, Robert S. Gordon, with the aid of hospice. Survivors include his children, Robert S. Gordon and Matthew J. Gordon; brothers, Peter Gordon Helen, Carl Gordon Cheri, David Gordon, and William Gordon Michelle; sisters, Debbie Aucompaugh Lee, and Mary Talmadge; grandchildren, Allyson Gordon and Madison Gordon. Pamela Gordon Avery also survives. The family invited relatives and friends to attend a calling period from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct., 9, 2013 at Betz Rossi, and Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, N.Y., 12010. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Oct., 10, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. An interment will immediately follow at St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery in Canajoharie, N.Y.
