Robert David Green, 70, of Seminole, passed away May 14, 2012. Robert was born in St. Petersburg, Florida on April 20, 1942 to Samuel and Margaret Green. He graduated from Boca Ciega High School and the University of Florida with a degree in Journalism. Robert was a member of the U.S. Air Force Reserves from 1966-1971. He worked as a sportswriter with the Ft. Lauderdale News from 1965-1967 and as a reporter and correspondent with Reuters in Washington D.C. from 1967-1997. During that time, he reported on Congress, the White House, Supreme Court, Pentagon, Justice Department, and other federal agencies. Robert held memberships to the National Press Club in Washington, Society of Professional Journalists, The Newspaper Guild, AFL-CIO, Tau Epsilon Phi, and Temple B'nai Israel in Clearwater. He is survived by his loving family; daughters Sharon (Jeffrey) Lange, Carol (Darryl) Melander, and Deborah (John) Herron; grandchildren Eric, Briana, and Ryan Melander & Daniel, Alex, Adeline, and Jacob Lange; cousins William Lang and Vanessa Carosella; and brother and sister-in-law Willard and Elaine Fein. Robert was predeceased by his beloved wife, Adele Fein Green; and brother, Paul Michael Green. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in Robert's memory to Suncoast Hospice House Bayfront. David C. Gross Funeral Homes, Central Avenue Chapel in St. Petersburg is serving the family. Service Information
