Robert M. Hennessy Jr.
June 14th, 1940 - February 8th, 2019
Robert M. Hennessy, Jr., affectionately known as Bob (and later Pepa), was born on June 14, 1940 to Robert M. Hennessy, Sr. and Nancy Lee Hennessy in Chicago, Illinois. The family moved to Los Angeles, California when he was young. Bob went to the "school of hard knocks" followed by proudly serving our country in the U.S. Air Force. In 1961 Bob married Donna Glenn and had three children, Marty, Lisa and John. Bob supported his family as a newspaper printer for the Los Angeles News Herald and the La Opinin. Bob and his family moved to Reno, Nevada in 1977, where Bob continued working in the printing industry. Bob started his own printing business in a campground restroom. He was quite a character! He would go fishing on the Truckee River during his lunch break. Around this time, Bob found his second wife, Mary Lou Ingersoll, and inherited two step-children, Jeffrey and Linda. They lived a fulfilling life, with a successful printing business and a love of travel, and were blessed with seven wonderful grandchildren. After Mary's passing, Bob realized his dream of living by the Colorado River in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, in August 2008. While in Lake Havasu City, as a hot rod enthusiast, he joined Relics and Rods. Bob spent many years enjoying his second childhood living the dream, including racing hot rods, dancing and making new friends. In his last years, Bob found a wonderful companion in Cathy Gratz, who loved and remained with him until the end. Bob took his last breath on February 8, 2019, in his favorite recliner, eating his favorite ice cream, Blue Bunny "Bunny Tracks". Bob is survived in death by his sister, Gwen Tolleson and her husband Tom, sons Robert M. Hennessy, III, and John G. Hennessy, daughter Lisa S. Seachris, her husband Louis and their daughters Tarah and Sabrina, step-son Jeffrey W. Hillinger and his children Lennon and Annalace, and step-daughter Linda M. Sabo, her husband John and their children Joshua, Kayla and John. Bob's friends remember him as an always smiling, fun-loving guy who was quick with a joke. Bob was a friend to all and generous to a fault. Bob was loved by everyone who knew him. As Bob would say "I'm having a going away party". Date to be announced.
