Herring, Robert J., 76, of St. Petersburg, died Saturday, December 9th, 2000 at Carrington Place Nursing Home. He was born in Princeton, WV and came here in 1956 from Indianapolis, IN where he retired from the Pennsylvania Greyhound Bus Lines, and was a member of Roberts Park United Methodist Church and American Legion Post #380. Locally, he worked for Adcock Buick from 1956 ? 1969 and then was a Dietician at V.A. Medical Center in Bay Pines from 1969 ? 1989. He was a member of American Legion Post #357 and Toastmasters International Club #3524 both in St. Petersburg, and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees Chapter #17. He was a WW II Army veteran serving in the 877th Airborne Engineers Aviation Battalion in Europe, and then served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Deloris M.; 1 daughter, Susan Crowley of St. Petersburg; 2 sisters, Kathleen Jones of Indianapolis, IN and Evelyn Luce of San Antonio, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
