Robert Roger Horner
December 27th, 1928 - October 6th, 2007
Horner, Robert Roger, 78 of St. Petersburg, FL, passed away October 6, 2007. He was born on Dec. 27, 1928 in Cortland, OH. Robert entered the Air Force in 1946 and served in Vietnam and in Germany and retired in 1973 as Chief Master SGT. He lived in Chillicothe, TX, while there he was an Administrator at the Chillicothe Hospital. He enjoyed traveling in his RV with his loving wife and he also enjoyed golfing. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Chillicothe, TX. Robert and his wife moved to St. Petersburg in December of 2004. He is predeceased by his father, Roy and mother, Ruth, and one sister, Wilma Girman. Survivors include: wife, Bobbie L. of 56 years; one daughter, Cheri and Bob Abbott; and his granddaughter, Ashley Abbott of Miami; one sister, Betty Gray and Ralph of Troy, OH; one brother-in-law, Don and Gwen Dismuke of Hobbs, NM; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 12, at Allendale United Methodist Church, 3803 Haines Rd. N, St. Petersburg, FL 33703, at 3:00PM. Rev. Lisa Degrenia will be officiating and assisting will be Rev. Darwin Reedy. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to the Allendale United Methodist Church or to the Vietnam Veterans of America, VVA Chapter #522, Indian Rocks Beach, FL 33785.
