Robert Michael Kaufman, 85 of Rotonda West, FL died Monday, May 22, 2017. He was born on February 21, 1932 in Baltimore, MD to Henry and Caroline (Adams) Kaufman. Mr. Kaufman served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He retired from the Baltimore City Fire Department in Baltimore, MD with the rank of Captain serving for 30 years. Robert was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, doing jig saw puzzles and playing solitaire. He is survived by his wife of 63 years; Rita: his children; Donna (Charles) DiMario of Englewood, Lynda (Paul) Rollo of Rotonda, Denise (James) Simpson of Rotonda, his grandchildren; Christopher, Stephen, Lindsay, Angela, David, Felicity, Jimmy; seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Dayna in October 2002. Viewing will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at the Englewood Community Funeral JHome, Inc. 3070 S. McCall Rd. from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 2:00 PM a Redeemer Lutheran Church. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Gulf Pines Memorial Park.
