Kerr, Robert M., M.D. Robert M. Kerr, M.D. of St. Petersburg, FL died on September 18, 2007 at Palms of Pasadena Hospital. Dr. Kerr was born December 28, 1919 in Wilkes-Barre, PA and practiced medicine for 40 years in the same home as his father, the late Percival M. Kerr, M.D. After a joyful and productive life in the Wyoming Valley area, Dr. Kerr and his wife, Anne sought the warmth and cultural activities of St. Petersburg in 2004. Dr. Kerr was educated in the Wilkes-Barre public schools, Bucknell Junior College the predecessor of Wilkes University, Bucknell University, The Jefferson Medical College of Philadelphia, and The Graduate School of Medicine of the University of Pennsylvania. He served his internship at Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital, Darby, PA, and residencies in Internal Medicine at the Guthrie Clinic and Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA and the Queens General Hospital in New York City. He was a member of the medical staff of the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital serving as president in 1975, the Luzerne County Medical Society serving as president in 1973, the Pennsylvania Medical Society serving as delegate, and the American Medical Association. He was a diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine and a life member of the American College of Physicians. He was also a member of Whispering Condos Association. Dr. Kerr loved classical music and was a flutist in the Wilkes-Barre Symphony Orchestra. An avid tennis player, he was president of the Valley Tennis and Swim Club. He was on the boards of the Planned Parenthood of Northeastern Pennsylvania, the Wyoming Chapter of the American Red Cross, and the Children and Youth Services of Luzerne County. Dr. Kerr was preceded in death by his father, Percival M. Kerr, M.D.; his mother, Isadora W. Kerr; his stepmother, Agnes S. Lacy; his brothers: William and Andre; and his wife of 40 years, the former Mary H. Zeller. Surviving are his wife, Anne Brockman Kerr; brother Milton B. Kerr of Brooklyn, NY; his sister-in-laws: Lois and Rhonnie; sons: Bruce R. Kerr of Dallas, PA, Brian A. Gochez-Kerr Hury of Mountaintop, PA, and David J. Kerr Natalia of Dallas, PA; daughter Mary Lee Carson Del of Perryopolis, PA; and 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. He also leaves behind his extended Brockman family of Emily, Marc Mary, Phoebe Marwan, Eric Susan, Stephen, Vincent Mary, and 11 grandchildren. Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be donated to the Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic, P.O.
