Robert Joseph King, Sr. February 14, 1935 - February 6, 2014 Robert Joseph King, Sr. (78) of Viera, FL., went to be with the Lord early on February 6. Robert, originally from Philadelphia, PA., is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Dorothy Ann (Britland) and his four children: Robin Griffin (Glenn), Karen Spindler (Barry), Robert Jr. (Jennifer), and Scott (Cynthia). He was lovingly known as Grrr to his nine grandchildren and one great-grandson. He is also survived by his loving sister, Dr. Lorraine C. King, and is predeceased by his parents, Alexander Stewart and Anna Elizabeth (nee Logan) and his sister, Joan A. Castan. Robert graduated from Jules E. Mastbaum High School in 1953 and was a certified automobile technician and shop steward for 37 years. He was a member of the Artisans Order of Mutual Protection and the Loyal Order of the Moose. His passion was travel and he loved anything to do with planes, trains, and automobiles. His dream of traveling to Ireland was finally realized in April of 2011. Although not a sportsman, Bob was a master of many trades and freely offered his expertise, advise, and services to all, especially to his family, whom he adored. Bob will be very dearly missed by his family and all of his friends. Memorial services will be held at Advent Lutheran Church in Suntree (7550 N. Wickham Road, Melbourne, Fl., 32940) on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 11 A.M. Visitation will begin at 10:30 A.M. In lieu of flowers please send monetary gifts to the Advent Lutheran Church Organ Fund or to The American Cancer Society (Mendick Hope Lodge, 12810 Magnolia Drive, Tampa, FL., 33612).
