Robert B. Kinnett Mr. Kinnett, 86, of Charlotte, NC died Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Carolinas Medical Center. He was born October 1, 1924 in Conyers, GA, son of the late Claude and Jessie Kinnett. Bob started Carolina Sheet Metal & Heating Co. in 1950 out of the trunk of his car, and it is still a family run business today. He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. Mr. Kinnett was an active member of St. Paul United Methodist Church where he worshipped for the last 55 years. His favorite place to be was his second home in Blowing Rock, NC, where he loved to work in the yard and sit on the back porch and enjoy the view. He also loved having the entire family there at Thanksgiving and other times of the year. In addition to his parents, Mr. Kinnett was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years Cecile Kinnett. He is survived by his children, Pam Walker and her husband, Randy of Charlotte, Patty Baldwin and her husband, Art of Huntersville, and Michael Kinnett and his wife, Karen of Charlotte; six grandchildren, Carrie Davis, Emily Hudson, Matt Walker, Andrea Baldwin, Ben Baldwin and Carson Kinnett; and one great-grandchild, Calli Davis. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Monday, August 22, 2011 at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 2830 Dorchester Pl. Charlotte, NC 28209 with Reverend A.J. Thomas, officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, August 21, 2011 from 4:00 until 6:00 PM at Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd. Charlotte, NC 28203. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Charlotte Region, 1420 East 7th Street, Charlotte, NC 28204 or St. Paul United Methodist Church Emergency Fund 2830 Dorchester Pl. Charlotte, NC 28209.
