Robert Harold Laauwe
July 26th, 1929 - December 27th, 2013
Robert Harold Laauwe, 84, of Placida, Florida passed away Friday, December 27, 2013 at Tidewell Hospice Englewood House. He was born on July 26, 1929 in Wyckoff, NJ to Leonard and Lilly (Tribout) Laauwe. Robert served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a pilot with over 140 missions. Mr. Laauwe retired as the Presient of INOPAK in Ringwood, NJ in 1997 after 38 years of service. He moved to Florida 15 years ago from Franklin Lakes, NJ. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Englewood. Robert enjoyed working outside around the house, golfing, the beach and most importantly he loved his two little dogs; Lady and Molly. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Nancy Laauwe; his children: Linda G. Laauwe (David) Clark of PA; Missy S. Laauwe (Brian) McCauley of RI; Susan K. Laauwe of NJ; John M. (Bonnie) Laauwe of RI; William Randal (Juana) Laauwe of NJ; nine grandchildren: Jennifer Clark (James) Bostic, David (Melanie) Clark, Brendan McCauley, Caitlin McCauley, Tiara Laauwe, Angie Laauwe, Sandra Laauwe, Sage Vages Laauwe and Terence Laauwe. He was preceded in death by two sons: Robert B. Laauwe in 2009 and Terence G. Laauwe in 2011. Viewing will be held on Friday, January 3, 2014 at the Calvary Baptist Church 75 North Pine St. Englewood, FL 34223 from 10:00 AM to the time of service at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Sarasota National V.A. Cemetery at 2:30 PM with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contribution in Mr. Laauwe's name be made to Tidewell Hospice, Inc. 5955 Rand Blvd. Sarasota, FL 34238.
