Robert Rene Langelier passed away on August 19, 2016 from heart failure. He was born on July 23, 1932 in New York City to Ozita and Rene Langelier. He graduated from Georgetown University and New York University, where he received an MBA. Bob had a long, distinguished career as a General Motors executive. He spent 14 years in Brazil as supply manager for GM Brazil. He then worked in Venezuela, Chile and Portugal where he served as the head of General Motors and as President of the American Chamber of Commerce in each of those countries. He was fluent in Portuguese and Spanish. Bob was an avid golfer and traveler and enjoyed his years working abroad. He retired after 33 years with GM and moved to Skidaway Island, Georgia, a golfer's paradise. There he volunteered with the International Executive Service Corps, advising businesses abroad. More recently, Bob lived in Gainesville and St. Petersburg, Florida. He was predeceased by his spouse of 44 years, Laura Langelier and his brother, Monsignor Gerald Langelier. Bob is survived by his loving bride of 15 years, Lois Small Langelier. He is also survived by his daughter, Dr. Carolyn Langelier and her spouse, Chris Halabi. Last but not least, Bob is survived by his two beloved granddaughters, Kate and Carson Halabi, of whom he was so proud. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 515 4th St. S., St. Petersburg, FL on Monday, August 29th at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to Georgetown University or the American Heart Association. David C.
