Robert "Bob" L. Leiner, age 83, of Charlotte, NC, formerly of Pompano Beach, FL died October 26, 2014. Bob is survived by his wife of 56 years Leatrice Greenblatt Leiner, his daughters Ronni Lillian Attenello & Judith Ann McIntosh, his son Charles "Chip" Leiner & his daughter-in-law Paula Leiner, and his sister Joan Landau. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Robert, Daniel, Kerry, Torie, Kylee, Sean Michael, Justin & Rachel and one great granddaughter, Kendyl. Bob was born and raised in the Bronx, the son of the late Leo and Rose (Dolgoff) Leiner. He and his wife raised their children in Pompton Lakes, NJ. Bob attended the University of Pennsylvania, graduating in 1952 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was drafted during the Korean War, and found himself in Germany, due to his musical talent playing trumpet for the United States Army Band in Heidelberg. He was discharged from the Army as a Corporal in 1954. During his career he held long-term positions at Curtis Wright, Otis Elevator Company, and General Bearing Corporation before retiring to Pompano Beach, FL. Bob was an avid golfer, and played regularly at the Pompano Beach Municipal Golf Course, where he will be missed by all of his buddies. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am Sunday, November 9, 2014 at Temple Beth El, 5101 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC 28203.
