Robert Anthony Lock

Obituary Robert Anthony Lock, 78, died peacefully at his home on July 15, 2015. The sixth of ten children, Bob was born on April 27, 1937 in Linn, Missouri to Maryanne and Edward Lock. He spent most of his boyhood and graduated from high school in Fleming, Colorado. He served in the Air National Guard. In 1959 he married Barbara Lindgren of Holyoke. They divorced in 1962. He attended trade school in Boulder and became a Plumber/Pipefitter, graduating at the top of his class. In 1971 he married Susan Hatt of Boulder and soon settled in Longmont. After mastering his trade, Bob and his brother Jim opened Brothers & Sons Mechanical Contractors and ran it successfully together for many years. After retiring from plumbing, he served several terms as a Director for Poudre Valley Rural Electric Association. He was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Boulder, and later of Faith Community Lutheran Church in Longmont. Bob's favorite times were being with his children and grandchildren. He spent countless hours tinkering around the house and working in the garden. He loved to travel, and he and Susan had many wonderful trips together. His other joys included dancing, teaching, experimenting, building things, making meals together, being generous, and helping others. Survivors include his four younger siblings, wife, daughter Cynthia (James) Bratcher, and sons Joseph (Melissa) and Michael (Briana) Lock, as well as grandchildren Brandon and Carissa Bratcher, Andrew and Peter Lock, and Rebecca and John Lock. Services for Bob will be held at the Faith Community Lutheran Church in Longmont on Thursday, July 30 at 10am.
