Robert L. Marcum, 91, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Saturday afternoon (August 26, 2017) at Wexford House following a lengthy illness. He was born in Pennington Gap, VA and had resided in Kingsport the past 30 years. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and was a veteran of the United States Army. He belonged for many years to the VFW Charles DeWitt Byrd Post. Robert was a member of Poplar Grove Primitive Baptist Church. He was an avid baseball fan who liked all sports. He was preceded in death by his wife, Millie Marcum; parents, William and Buna Marcum along with several brothers and sisters. A military graveside service will be conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post #3/ # 265 on Tuesday (August 29, 2017) at 11:00 a.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park with Pastor Oscar Ervin and Tony Cradic, officiating. Family and friends attending the graveside are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 a.m. You can send an online condolence to the family by visiting www.cartertrent.com.
