Robert "Bear" E. Marrone

Robert E. "Bear" Marrone, 69, a life-long resident of Amsterdam, New York, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2023 at home, surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born on October 29, 1953 to the late Eugene Herman and Anna Marie (Tortorella) Marrone. He attended local schools, and was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School. On May 24, 1986 he was united in marriage to Debra Cummings, with whom he has shared the past 37 years. Robert was employed for many years as a dock worker. He later worked as a security guard for 17 years, until his retirement. Bear leaves behind his loving family, including his wife, Debra Marrone; his brother, Donald ( Denise) Marrone; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Aside from his parents, Eugene and Anna, Bear is also preceded in passing by his brother, Paul Marrone. Services will be held privately, at the convenience of the family.
