Bob McClurg passed away unexpectedly at his home in Springfield on January 4, 2014. He was 83. He was born December 31, 1930 in San Diego, CA to Daisy (Graham) and William McClurg. He served in the US Air Force and attended Loyola College for two years on a basketball scholarship. He married Barbara (Luckham) McGlamery in Reno, NV on August 28, 1976. Bob worked for Alcoa Aluminum in California and owned Al’s Sheet Metal in Eugene for 25 years. His hobbies included fishing, camping and solving crossword puzzles. Besides his wife, Barbara, he is survived by three daughters: Glenna Thompson of Escondido, CA; Amy Jo Harkleroad and Debbie Lopez both of San Diego, CA, two step-children: David McGlamery of Oroville, CA and Patti Bailey of Springfield, OR, sister Elsie Beach of California, brother William McClurg of El Cajon, CA, 22 Grandchildren and 26 Great-Grandchildren. Bob loved people and animals – especially his beloved border collie “Scout”. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday January 10th at the Northwood Christian Church on the corner of Hayden Bridge Road and Harvest Lane. Contributions may be made in Bob’s name to the Greenhill Humane Society. Musgrove Family Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
