Robert James McNamee

Robert "Bob” McNamee, 58, of Greeley, CO passed away on Monday, March 28, 2016. He was born on September 3, 1957 at the US Naval Hospital in St. Albans, NY to Robert and Maureen (O’Sullivan) McNamee. Bob grew up an Air Force "brat” and spent time in Spain, Germany, Florida, and Colorado. He graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a bachelor’s degree in business. In 1985, in New Jersey, Bob married Nancy Costigan. Bob was a PGA Professional for over 30 years and worked for many esteemed golf courses in Colorado. In 2013 he was the girl’s golf coach for Windsor High School. He is a member of UNC Athletic Hall of Fame as a member of the 1978-1979 golf team that was the first UNC men’s golf team to reach the NCAA Division II Championships in Davis, CA. Bob also enjoyed fishing. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and PGA of America. Bob is survived by his wife, Nancy of Greeley; daughter, Lauren (Kurt) Kroeber of Denver; son, K-Mac of Denver; Golden Retriever & special buddy, Mac; sisters, Pamela (Rick) Holzwarth of Colorado Springs, CO, Patricia (Peter) Goldstein of Katonah, NY, Leslie (Patrick) Johnson of Carbondale, CO, and Cathy Davis of Colorado Springs; brother, Tim McNamee of Lakewood, CO; and father, Robert McNamee of Green Valley, AZ. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, and mother. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 1, 2016 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 915 12th Street, Greeley, CO 80631.
