My Life Story Robert (Bob) Warren Merrill, died May 4, 2015, surrounded by family and friends. Born in Joplin Missouri on Feb 7, 1942, he was raised in Coffeyville, Kansas. In 1963 he joined the U. S. Air Force. He was stationed at Mountain Home AFB, ID, until discharge in 1967. In 1964 Bob married the love of his life Janey Jaminet of Coffeyville, and they celebrated their 50th anniversary last year. They moved to Boise in 1968, and Bob went to work for Intermountain Gas Company until retirement in 2005. In 1973 they adopted their son Steven. He joined the Boise Jaycees in 1968 and held various offices including President. He was involved in the placement of the Cross on Table Rock. He also served as Administrative Assistant for the Idaho Jaycees. He was a board member for West Boise Little League as well as an umpire. He volunteered for 5 years for the Ada County Juvenile Court Services. He has been a member of the Boise River Eagles Chapter of the Good Sam Club for 19 years and was President. He shared his love of motorcycling with his son Steven. He was a member of St. Mark’s Church in Boise. Bob was a wonderful, caring man who will be missed by everyone who knew him. One of his nieces said, “I will always have a special place in my heart for my favorite Uncle. I always enjoyed our joking around and laughing and our banter about Texas and other funny topics. Although it has been years since I have seen him I can still hear his voice and see that mischievous grin of his.” Another friend said, “We have lost a wonderful friend and neighbor. We thought the world of Bob.” And yet another friend said, “His infectious smile is present in my mind.” Other comments include “I loved his humor and wit.” He loved to laugh and joke with people. He is survived by his wife Janey, son Steven of Boise, and several siblings, nieces, and nephews. Two of his cousins-in-law were very special to him, also. We Entrusted Robert Merrill's Care To
Accent Funeral Home
A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
