As his sons became of age, they hunted and fished together especially in Vermont and Rhode Island where he kept his boat. Fished a lot off of Watch Hill light, where his son Tony was the keeper for some years. His recent hobbies included feeding all kinds of birds, especially hummingbirds and watching wildlife passing through the yard. He was employed for 10 years at Monsanto. When they moved to Belchertown, he became a part-time police officer in the early 70's and worked at the Belchertown State School until it closed. He then worked at Monson State School until he retired in 2005. He worked some part time jobs for a while, and they did some traveling. They took cruises to Bermuda and Alaska and visited Oregon, Washington, British Columbia and Canada. Visitation will be Tuesday Oct 24 from 5-7pm at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home with a funeral service on Wednesday, Oct 25 at 10 am in the funeral home.
