Robert "Bob" Joseph Olson
November 25th, 1940 - December 19th, 2023
Robert "Bob" Olson, born November 25, 1940, in St. Joseph, MO, surrounded by family, passed away December 19, 2023. Bob served in the US Army 4th Armored Division, during what he joked as the "Cold War". He was a self taught master woodworker, making custom screen doors that still adorn many local homes. He was a frequent contributor to Craftsmen for Christ and was an Ancient Mariner of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church. He was an avid fisherman, member of the Sutter Buttes Gem and Mineral Society and coached many of his children's sports teams. He is known for his kindness toward his family, people in need, calm demeanor and would lift a room with his smile and laughter. He was a fan of the SF Giants, 49ers and any team his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren played, rarely missing a game. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; Vera and Manny Miranda; brother Bill Olson and sister Marilynn Olson. He is survived by his wife, of 60 years, Jackie Olson, brother Don Olson (Dea); sisters Sherry Pageler and Marita Klotz (Randy), daughter Jennifer (Steven); sons Joe Olson (Julia) and Jeff Olson (Julie); seven grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren. He was also a surrogate parent to many of his children's friends, never turning away someone in need. A celebration of life will be held February 24, 2024, 11am, at the Foothill Lion's Club, 5667 Fruitland Rd., Loma Rica, CA 95901
