Robert Paulson A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 18th, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 1465 Coburg Rd. in Eugene for Robert Mark Paulson, who has gone home with the Lord March 04, and 2017 of age related causes. He was 91. He was born September 9, 1925, in Thief River Falls, Minnesota to Oscar and Laura (Jorgensen) Paulson. Bob married Rae Yvonne (Fifer) Schroeder on September 11, 1949 in Grand Forks, N.D. Bob graduated from Thief River Falls High School in 1943 and entered the Air Force, honorably completing his military service in 1945. Following World War II Bob earned his Bachelor Degree in Accounting from the University of North Dakota in 1949. Bob worked as an accountant for Russell Creamery in Superior, Wisconsin and Duluth Minnesota until re-locating the family to Eugene, Oregon in 1959, to work as an accounting manager for Meadowland Creamery. During the 1970's Bob became self-employed CPA performing government audits and tax accounting services. Bob attended St. Thomas Episcopal Church since 1959, a member of Shadow Hills Country Club followed by membership in the Eugene Country Club, and life membership in Oregon Club. Bob was a past president and member of the Eugene Kiwanis Club since 1959 and earned the Hopkins-Hollis Award of Excellence. Bob was an avid sports fan in addition to watching pro sports; he always enjoyed attending the men’s and women's University of Oregon football, basketball and baseball games. Bob was an avid golfer until his health would not permit him to participate. He also enjoyed playing bridge, salmon and trout fishing, traveling and camping. Bob was able to continue to reside in his own home for his final years while being cared for by his sons. He continued to be active playing bridge and attending U of O basketball games until shortly before his passing. Survivors include his three sons, David of Brooklyn, N.Y., Daniel and John of Eugene, and four grandchildren; brother James of Tucson, AZ, and sister Patricia of Pensacola, FL. He was preceded by his wife Rae and a younger brother Bruce, formerly of Chicago. An inurnment will take place concluding the Memorial Service at St. Thomas Episcopal Church.
