Robert Lee Polson

July 8th, 1932 - September 1st, 2023

Robert Lee Polson was born July 8th, 1932, in Orange, Virginia, the seventh of 9 children, to William & Joanna Polson. He was the husband of Dorothy Trimble and would have celebrated 70 years of marriage on August 29th . He resided in York, PA most of his adult life, but retired to Denver, CO to be close to his son’s family in 2003. Robert made a decision for Christ at a revival meeting at Westside Baptist church in 1979. He was a faithful servant and very active in his church. He was an usher and helped his wife with seasonal church decorations and general fixup at the church, including building a custom bookcase for the Pastor’s office. Robert was in the Army (National Guard) & the Air Force before taking a job with AMF / Harley Davidson and retiring from there in 1997 after 36 years. He was an avid sportsman, loving to hunt and fish. As a home mechanic, he loved to fix anything broken, from his own cars, to lawnmowers, fans and anything with an engine that was brought to him. He maintained a full shop of table saws, drills & sanders to assist with the various projects he would take on in retirement. Robert loved building model airplanes & civil war cannons from scratch using whatever materials he could get from yard sales, dumpster dives & hobby stores. He was a coin enthusiast and enjoyed collecting state quarters, national park quarters, wheat pennies and even foreign coins from anyone traveling about. For the last 20 years he enjoyed making memories with his great grandchildren, listening to country western music and eating lots of sweets! His wife Dorothy passed in 2012 after a long battle with cancer & his last remaining sibling, Lorine Fry lives in New Mexico. He is survived by his Son Allen, four grandsons and 11 great-grandchildren.
