Robert "Bob" Bob Proctor

ROBERT "Bob" PROCTOR, 66, of Rotonda West passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2013 in Tidewell Hospice in Venice. Born on September 15, 1946 in Boston, Massachusetts he had been a resident of Charlotte County for seventeen years coming from Orlando, FL. Bob served in the U.S. Army and was a Viet Nam Veteran (1966-67.) He was employed by the U.S. Postal service as a carrier prior to his retirement. He was an active member of the VFW Post having served as a Commander at Post #2017 in Dedham, MA and Post #19 in Orlando, FL. He was a past State Commander of Florida 1987-88; a member of the American Legion National Executive Committee; Past President of the 1997 National Convention of the American Legion held in Orlando. He also was a member of the B.P.O.Elks Lodge 2378 in Englewood and Moose Lodge #1942 in Orlando and V.F.W. Post 10178 in Rotonda West. Survivors include his loving wife of thirty-three years: Ruth M. Proctor of Rotonda West, FL: a brother: Thomas (Rhea) Proctor of Orlando, FL; and one step-grandson: Jay Delgado of Leesburg, FL. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at 10 Am at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Grove City. Interment will be on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 11 Am at Sarasota National Cemetery with honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Child Welfare Foundation, P.O.
