Robert Terrence Rasmussen

Robert Terrence Rasmussen-or as the world knows him, “Terry” July 19, 1936 – November 28, 2023 Terry was born on July 19, 1936 in Seattle, Washington to Robert and Edna Rasmussen. He was the oldest of four children. He grew up in the Queen Anne area of Seattle with his sister, Mary and two brothers, Jerry and John. His elementary years were spent at St. Margaret's Catholic School and his free time was spent building forts, roaming the stores around Queen Anne and delivering newspapers to his neighbors. There was even an article written and a picture of him and his youngest brother John, delivering that very paper! His high school years were spent at Seattle Preparatory School. When he wasn’t at school, working or serving as an altar boy, he was fishing, working on his car or racing around town, which he did every chance he got. After high school he joined the Navy Reserves and served from 1954 -1962. He loved to share stories of being on the ship, peeling potatoes and onions, spending time in the Philippines & Hawaii and courting Ann across the oceans. There may have even been an engagement ring that went through the mail, he wasn’t taking any chances. He also went to Everett Junior College and started working for North Coast Electric. It is there that he met the love of his life, Ann Cash. They were married on January 19th, 1963 and their love story lasted 60 years. (Margaret Ann Rasmussen - December 20, 1941- March 7, 2020) Out of that love they had four children, Tim, Brian, Amy and Shara. He retired from Bearings Inc. where he worked the majority of his life and made some very special and lasting friendships. He provided and cared for his family with his whole heart. He was a quiet man in all the best ways. He was funny and full of life. You could often find him at Winco or Grocery Outlet or at Fred Meyer or Safeway- but only if he had a coupon! Then he would come home and cook up an amazing meal to feed his family which he took great pride in. You could also find him in his happy place, out on the lake in his little rowboat. If he had the option to fish, he always chose fishing. If you drove by his house you could find him sitting on his rocking chair on the front porch with a cup of coffee but mostly, you could find him side -by -side with the ones he loved. Terry has always been a family man, from the time he was a small boy until the day he took his last breath. He was a loyal, loving and committed son, brother, uncle and cousin. He was a devoted and loving husband and the most amazing Father and Papa anyone could hope for. He will be missed beyond measure. He leaves behind his broken-hearted children, Tim Rasmussen and his wife Betty, Brian Rasmussen and his wife Laurie, Amy Johnson and her husband Derrick, and Shara Harris and her husband Todd, his brother Jerry Rasmussen and his wife Marsha, his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with his nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
