Robert E. Roth
September 25th, 1931 - August 13th, 2009
Robert Emanuel Roth, 77, of Windsor, Colorado passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 13, 2009 at Windsor Healthcare Center. "Sonny,” as he was best known, was born September 25, 1931 in Wellington, Colorado to Alexander and Pauline (Fritzler) Roth. He attended schools in Wellington and Windsor. Sonny began farming at a young age with his dad in the Ft. Collins, Windsor and Grover areas. He later worked of Great Western Sugar in Windsor for many seasons. On May 5, 1966 he started working for Monfort Feed Lots of Greeley and retired 38 years later as a heavy equipment operator. Sonny loved to dance, especially the German "Dutch Hop”. He also liked gardening and coin collecting. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Greeley. Sonny will be remembered as a great dancer, for his great sense of humor and for being a teaser and prankster. He was a loving father, grandfather (Papa), and a devoted husband and caregiver to his wife of thirty years. He is survived by his son, Gaylan Eugene Roth (Julie) of Centennial, CO; son-in-law, Darrell May also of Centennial; grandchildren, McKenna and Keegan May, P.J. Cruz, and Missy, Matthew and Nicholas Roth. He is also survived by five brothers, Albert Roth (Amy) of Roseville, CA, Roy Roth (Ruby), Harvey Roth (Sally), Gary Roth (Trisha) all of Windsor, and Raymond Roth of Ft. Collins, CO; two sisters, Doris Parker (Don) of Longmont and Charlotte "Susie” Robinette (Danny) of Loveland, CO; sister-in-law, Vicki Ley of Eaton, CO; step mother-in-law, Elsie Schwartz of Greeley; numerous nieces and nephews; aunts, Dorothy Hess of Moundridge, KS, and Rachel Whitman of Colorado Springs, CO; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Roth; daughter, Gwendalyn May; parents; brother, Alexander Roth; father-in-law, Vic Schwartz; step father-in-law, Bill Wunsch; mother-in-law, Lydia Wunsch; and brothers-in-law, Everett Sinks and Larry Leh. A celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at Resurrection Fellowship, 6502 E. Crossroads Blvd. in Loveland. Friends may visit from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Adamson Chapel in Greeley. Interment at Lakeview Cemetery in Windsor. Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation in care of Adamson Funeral & Cremation Services, 2000 47t Avenue Greeley, CO 80634.
