Robert Charles Rubscha
November 27th, 1928 - March 16th, 2009
Robert Charles Rubscha, 80, of Mayfield, passed away at his home on Monday, March 16, 2009. Bob was born in Gloversville on November 27, 1928, the son of the late Paul Rubscha and Edna Mae Siedle Rubscha. Bob was educated in the Gloversville School District. On July 9, 1994 Bob married Jane Walton Rubscha. They shared 14 years united in marriage. Bob worked in the construction field for most of his life and was proud to be a courier for Nathan Littauer Hospital. Bob was an avid hunter and fisher. He was a Mason for several years and also was a member of the Bleecker Fish and Game Club, as well as the Concordia Club. Bob was the former owner of the Cabaret and part owner of the Sportsmen's Lounge. Bob is survived by his wife Jane Rubscha of Mayfield; four children: Wayne Rubscha Kelly of Johnstown, Rene Guzek of Mayfield, Robert F. Rubscha Linda of Florida and Cheryl Newman Robert of Wisconsin; four step children: Brian Beatty Bonnie of Virginia, Susan Charlton of Virginia, Linda Carlton John of Minnesota and Eric Beatty Karol of Scotia. Additional survivors include six grandchildren: Darryl, Marrissa, Andrew, Mikayla, Alexis and Jaime. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Bob was preceded in death by his former wife Marie Ratel in 1978 as well as one sister, Marie Konik, and three brothers: Paul Rubscha, Donald Rubscha and Richard Rubscha. There will be a memorial visitation on Friday, March 20, 2009 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home; 51 Fremont St; Gloversville. Cremation will take place at Parkview Crematorium in Schenectady.
