Robert Schommer
August 9th, 1924 - March 14th, 2013
Robert Schommer, of Longmont, passed away at Applewood Living Center on March 14, 2013. He was born in Longmont on August 09, 1924 to Joseph Schommer and Leona Grob. Robert served as a Corporal of the Army in World War II and the Korean War. After he returned home began working as a Quality Control Technician at Gates Rubber Company. He became a supervisor and stayed with that company for 40 years. Robert was a world traveler and visited numerous other countries. He was a part of the Knights of Columbus for many years as well as a member of the Holy Ghost Church in Denver. He spent a great deal of time in the home of his sister, JoAnn and her family. He is survived by two brothers, Vernan of Seattle, WA and Gerald (Nancy) Schommer of Florida as well as two sisters, Madelin Endres of Illinois and JoAnn (Luke) Embree of Longmont, CO. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews, family and friends. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Cecil and the twins, Myron and Mervin, as well as a sister, Bernice Roby. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:30 on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Mountain View Cemetery in Longmont. Services have been entrusted to Carroll-Lewellen Funeral & Cremation Services.
