Robert Herschel Sexton
July 27th, 1923 - August 25th, 2017
Robert H. "Bob" Sexton, 94; of Tucson, formerly of Hornick, passed away Friday, August 25, 2017, in Tucson, AZ. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 16, at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church in Tucson. Burial will be at a later date. Bob was born on July 27, 1923, in Danbury, the son of Raymond and Celestine Sexton. He attended Danbury Public School. Bob served with the U.S. Army Air Force as a pilot during World War II. He was married to Iila Lefebvere on September on September 8, 1944, in Phoenix, Arizona. She passed away on June 13, 2004, in Tucson. He moved to Hornick, Iowa, in 1950 and to Tucson in 1990. He worked for Standard Oil Company until he retired. He was of the Catholic faith and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Hornick Fire Department and the American Legion Post 492. Survivors include a son, Gregory (Mary) Sexton of Sioux City; two daughters, Nedra Zamora of Greeley, Colorado, and Lorna Parsley of Tucson; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Kieran "Tiny" Sexton. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Iila Sexton; a brother, Kendall "Skip" Sexton; three sisters, Maxine Arney, Veda Workman, and Delores Black; a son-in-law; a daughter-in-law, a granddaughter; and two great- grandchildren.
