Robert (Bob) Donald Slentz May 30, 1927 - August 19, 2012 Born May 30, 1927 in Norwich, New York. Passed on August 19, 2012 in Syracuse, New York. Survived by his wife of 65 years, Prudence Holdridge Slentz; two sisters, one brother, eight children, 22 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Educated at Norwich High School, Hamilton College, Yale University and Rochester Institute of Technology. Served in the US Navy from 1945 until 1946. His high school science teaching career spanned 49 years and included schools throughout New York and internationally, most recently Manlius Pebble Hill. Join us at 2pm Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the Last Hours Blues Bar, 1324 Meadowbrook Drive, Syracuse NY, for a celebration of Bob's life. Memorial donations can be made to the Jazz Appreciation Society (JASS) of Syracuse, c/o Duane Norris (Treasurer), 40 Grover Street, East Syracuse, NY 13057. Husband, father of eight, teacher extraordinaire He taught us all with love and care And humor too, the best to see the lessons through Five classes a day, 20 students each Times 49 years - This man could teach! Do the math and you will find A number that will blow your mind Over 10,000 young minds he impressed A stellar teacher, one of the best!
