Robert Bryson Smith

Robert Bryson Smith (Ice Man) age 89, of Warner Robins, Georgia entered heaven Sunday afternoon December 24th, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. Born November 25th, 1928 in Wrightsville, Georgia (Buckeye), he was the son of the late Richard Smith and Mary Paul Smith. Bryson Smith graduated High School in Wrightsville Georgia, where he played football for the Wrightsville Tigers. After graduation he joined the United States Airforce. Upon exiting the Air Force, he began work in Augusta, Georgia at the bomb plant. He moved to Warner Robins, Georgia in 1958 and began his career at Robins Airforce Base where he retired after 32 years of service. He enjoyed carpentry work during his retirement and spending time with his family and friends. He loved his church, Northview United Methodist, where he was a member for 57 years. You could find him sitting on the seventh pew each Sunday morning after greeting fellow members. He was preceded in death by his four siblings, Annie Etta Smith Price, William Russell Smith, Norman Lester Smith and James Earl Smith. He leaves to cherish his memory two boys, Ronnie N. Smith (Brenda Smith), of Kathleen, Georgia and Glen Blake Smith (Debbie Smith) of Kathleen, Georgia. Three granddaughters Jana Melissa Smith, Kelly Marie Smith and Nikki Brannon (Keith Brannon). He has two great grandsons Aydin and Kyler. Several nieces and nephews. His celebration of life and visitation will be held at Northview United Methodist Church in Warner Robins, Georgia at 10:00 am on Friday, December 29th, 2017. The service will be held immediately after at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Parkway Memorial Gardens. Pastor Leland Collins will officiate the service. All of us will experience loss during the course of our lives, but the death of a father is a cut that is slow to heal. Please remember Robert Bryson Smith as a Christian who loved God, his family and his friends. He is gone but will forever live in our hearts.
