Robert Lee Tipton

Obituary Robert Lee Tipton of Red Feather Lakes, Colorado passed away June 14, 2012 at home, as he wished. Bob was born November 6, 1928 to Russell and Gladys Tipton in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He married Charlene Matejka in 1948. Bob is survived by his wife of 64 years, Charlene, sister Patricia Duhaime, daughter Roberta (Sam) McGuire, son James Tipton, son Spook (Nancy) Tipton, eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Family was very important to Bob, and he was always ready for a picnic or dinner as long as pie and ice cream were served. Bob loved to fly, and was one of the founders of the downtown Fort Collins Airport. He restored airplanes, automobiles, and boats, and he enjoyed golf, fishing, hunting and boating. He was a loyal fan of the Broncos and Nuggets, always ready to place a bet. Bob spent 20 years in the auto parts business in Fort Collins owning Macks Auto Supply and providing expert auto machining. He was preceded in death by a son, his parents, a sister, and three brothers. A celebration of life will be held at Chapel in the Pines in Red Feather Lakes at 11:00 a.m. on July 14, 2012 with a potluck meal to follow.
