Robert "Bob" F. Warner

December 7th, 1927 - October 13th, 2015

Bob passed over with his wife, sister, Hospice nurse and health aid at his side on Oct. 13, 2015 He is survived by his wife of 58 years Helen, sons Bruce (Kathy) Glen, Kevin and Dean (Melissa), grandsons Shane Fullen, Bobby ( Colleen) , Grant and granddaughter Grace, sister Lora and several nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Roy and May Warner and brother Dick. Bob was drafted just before the end of WW 2 and was in the Army Air Force that became the Air Force. Came home and joined the Portland Police following in his fathers footsteps. He spent most of his police years in the Juvenile Division. Bob was active in the Portland Police Beneficiary. The month before he retired in1980 he was chosen the officer of the month by Kiwanis of Uptown Portland. Bob was very active in the Boy Scouts for over 75 years, starting as a young scout, earning his Eagle Scout badge, helping start the first Order of the Arrow Lodge in the Portland area, a winter lodge directer for many years, Cub Master, Scoutmaster of T-117 for ten years, helping 25 young men become Eagle Scouts. During his tenure the troop earned many awards including troop of year several times. He and his wife Helen and sons were chosen family of he year 1981 by the district. Bob was very proud of the fact that his four sons also had earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Two of his top awards were recieving the Silver Beaver 1962 and in 1986 he was 1of 30 Scoutmasters from the US recognized by the National Eagle Scout Assn.for his outstanding service for his scouts. He was active in the Rose City Little League and the treasurer for many years. After his retirement he and Helen enjoyed traveling by car, ship and train. Enjoyed camping with. scouting friends for many years A celebration of life will be Sunday, Nov. 15 between 1and 4 at his home on NE 61st. Donations can be made to the Boy Scouts or Adventist Health Hospice.
