Robert "Bob" C. Whitney

Robert C. Whitney passed away on September 15, 2022 at the age of 81 in South Carolina where he has resided for 11 years. Bob was born August 29th, 1941 in McKeesport, PA. He is survived by his wife, Sharon, his children, Pat Whitney (Patti) and Valerie Whitney, his stepchildren, Tammy Callahan (Tim), James Leonard (Tanya), his grandchildren, Kelsey, McKenna, Gage, TJ and Isabel, his great-grandchild Maddie, and many friends. Bob loved his country and proudly served in the United States Air Force as a medic in Vietnam. He went on to form his practice as an Optometrist in South Florida for many years. Upon retiring, he and Sharon made a life in the mountains of North Carolina and for the past 11 years in South Carolina. His retirement years were spent outdoors and active with his love of golfing, fishing, boating and gardening. Bob was also a man who loved music and loved to play one of his many guitars. His gift of gab allowed him to create an abundance of friendships wherever he went. He will be truly missed especially cruising around on his golf cart looking for friends old and new to share his many stories. South Carolina Cremation Society is assisting the family.
