Robert (Bob)Wayne Wiley went to meet his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at 83 years of age. Bob is survived by his wife, Janice Wiley, son, Donald (Karen) Wiley of Chico,CA, daughter, Lynn (Bob) Hassel of Champaign IL, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Bob was the oldest of 5 brothers. His brother Richard (Kathy) Wiley of Livermore, CA also passed on November 9, 2022 just a few hours after Bob. Surviving brothers are Raymond (Elaine) Wiley of Auburn, CA, Ron Wiley of Oakland, CA and John (Ruth) Wiley of Reno, NV. He was preceded in death by his Father, Bert Wiley and Mother, Mary Wiley. Bob served in the United States Air Force, stationed in Newfoundland and Las Vegas. Upon his honorable discharge from the military, Bob returned to his hometown of Oakland, CA. He co-owned and operated a successful Dr. Pepper Distributing Company in the Bay Area. In 1976 Bob sold that business to his partner and with his family moved to Chico, California. He continued the family business of Reliance Appliance, started by his Father-in-Law. Bob became a licensed HVAC contractor serving the Chico Area. He knew the roads and neighborhoods of Chico and surrounding areas well from the thousands of service calls he made during his almost 40 year career. Bob enjoyed reading and gardening in his spare time. Bob is known by his family and friends as a hardworking and generous man. He demonstrated to his family and others that “If something was worth doing, it was worth doing right.” Never afraid of hard work, he willingly helped others with his time and resources. He was a deacon, boy’s Sunday school teacher and bus driver for his local church. Bob will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but they rejoice in knowing that he is now and forever will be in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
