Roberto Ibanez passed away September 7, 2016 in Santa Cruz at the age of 52. He was born on November 11, 1963 to Gregorio and Margarita Ibanez and raised in Redwood City, California. He attended Hoover School in Redwood City, and later moved to Santa Cruz. For most of his career he worked for a variety of moving companies. Robert loved playing his musical instruments, his long drums on West Cliff Drive and playing his electric guitar and keyboard. He enjoyed family BBQ's and especially loved being around his nieces and nephews. Robert loved telling jokes and teasing his brother Carlos. He also enjoyed watching movies and listening to music, especially music by Carlos Santana. Robert is survived by his sisters; Cristina Escobar, Gracie Mendoza and Angie Sosa; 13 nieces and 21 nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margarita who passed November 29, 1987; his father, Gregorio who passed July 30, 2006; his brother, Fernando who passed June 25, 2013 and his brother, Carlos who passed February 15, 2015. A memorial service will be held for Robert on Friday, September 16, 2016 at Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, 1050 Cayuga Street in Santa Cruz beginning at 11:00 am.
