Robin Lou Walker

August 15th, 1957 - June 4th, 2011

Robin L Walker 53, Portland Oregon passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Adventist Medical Center in Portland Oregon. Robin was born August 15, 1957 in Ponca City, Oklahoma. She attended school there, graduating from Ponca City High School in 1975. She moved to Edmond Oklahoma, attending Central State University. She loved college life for the next 5 years, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and a minor in computer science. After that she made the cross-country journey to Oregon with her son and cat in tow, in search of opportunity. It did not take long for her to find it, once she found that one boss that would give her the chance to prove herself; she was off to the races. For the next 16 years Robin was employed as a Project Manager in the banking and health industries. Robin enjoyed many things, but more than anything she loved customizing her surroundings to fit her needs and taste. If she wasn't planning the design of concrete work to have done in her yard, she was probably deciding what plant to put where, based on color, size and texture. One time Robin and her son worked like Egyptians to get a 20ft palm tree planted in their back yard, with 4 or 5 ropes running in all directions to stabilize the tree it came to a vertical position, one ratcheting click at a time. She was so proud they did it all by themselves. Robin also enjoyed many of the great outdoor activities that Oregon has to offer, the most recent norms were fishing on the Columbia and Willamette Rivers in her boat, going to different natural & resort style hot springs and outdoor living in some of Oregon's state parks. One of Robin’s biggest joys was cooking for the homeless. She would prepare a large meal, put them in several containers and go pass them out while they were still warm. Robin loved life and chased after it with a tenacity that is uncommon. Like many things in nature the brighter it burns the shorter it will burn. She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Luciene (Lucy) Walker; father Robert (Bob) A. Walker; aunts, uncles and grandparents. She is survived by her loving son of the home, Christopher Walker Cook; sisters Jo Lin Walker and Pam Walker of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Debi Walker of Blackwell Oklahoma, Cindy Gordon of Humble, Texas; nieces Juli Willis and Amanda Gordon-Brast; nephews Schott Sprueill, Jake Gordon and Cody Roggenbuck; aunt Lucille May of Mazzola Montana, as well as her loyal companion "Raz" her rottweiler. A private celebration of Robin's life is planned for a later date. Arrangements by Autumn Funerals, Cremation & Burial, Tigard, Oregon.
