Rodney "Rod" D. Adams
December 7th, 1949 - August 31st, 2019
Rodney "Rod” Dee Adams, 69, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2019 at his home in Milliken, Colorado. Rod was born on December 7, 1949 to Melvin and Kathryn (Rinehart) Adams in Maryville, Missouri. In 1968 he graduated from Mount Ayr Community High School in Mount Ayr, Iowa. After high school Rod enlisted in the Army. On August 19, 1970 he married his wife Vicki Lee Petersen in Marrifield, Minnesota. For most of his life he worked in business management running convenience stores and filling stations where he ended his career as the owner of his own liquor store in Loveland, Colorado. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing of all kinds. In his retirement he became eastern Costa Rica’s premier amateur banana farmer. Rod was preceded in death by his parents; Melvin and Kathryn and his brother; Bobby Joe. Rod is survived by his wife of 49 years; Vicki, his daughters; Melanie Hurt, Nikki Adams, Kelli Adams, and his son; Justin. His grandchildren; Kylee Hix, Logan Hurt, Austin Hix, Cheyanne Hurt, and Grace Johnson. And his great-grandchildren; Alison and Jackson Dalrymple and Jameson "Jimmy” Hix. His brother; Dave (Martha) Adams, his sister Rhonda (Smokey) Butler. Services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Viegut Funeral Home located at 1616 North Lincoln Avenue, Loveland, Colorado 80538. After the service a celebration of life will follow at the Associated Veterans Club of Loveland located at 305 North Cleveland Avenue, Loveland, Colorado 80537.
