Rodney H. Mosher, 76, passed away on January 18, 2011, after a brief illness. His family was at his side. He was born on January 9, 1936 in Lowville, New York to Frank and Lucille Mosher. "Rod" grew up in Pulaski, New York, and graduated from SUNY Oswego with a degree in Education. He later completed a degree in Electrical Engineering in Utica, New York. Rod married Jeannine Watson in 1960, and then spent two years in the United States Army near Wiesbaden, Germany. In 1962, the Moshers returned to Pulaski, New York, where Rod opened up "Mosher Electrical and Electronics", and a carwash business. He was an instructor at Mexico BOCES, a local vocational school, teaching electronics. During his years in Pulaski, Rod was an active member of the local Lion's Club. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, boating and camping with friends and family. Many memorable summers were spent on the St. Lawrence River with his wife and daughters. In 1979, Rod and his family relocated to Melbourne, Florida. He worked for Pan American at Cape Canaveral as an electrician until his retirement in 2000. Since his retirement, Rod and Jeannine enjoyed traveling in their motor coach across the country with their African Gray parrot, "Poncho". Many wonderful times were spent visiting children, grandchildren, and a great-grandchild over the years. Rod enjoyed all of the friends and activities associated with the boating and motor home groups they belonged to. Rod is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jeannine Mosher; his sister, Carole Cheney (Edgar) of Vero Beach, FL; his children, Debbie (Mark) Erich of Mount Pleasant, SC, Denise Mosher of Melbourne, FL; grandchildren, Christopher Powell of Rochester, NY, Franklin Powell of Rochester, NY, Rachel Powell (Dan) McNitt of Pulaski, NY, Erica Herald of Prescott, AZ, Hillary Herald (Luke) Sadler of Charleston, SC, Courtney Herald of Mount Pleasant, SC, Samuel Herald of Mount Pleasant, SC; great-grandson, Boyd Sadler of Charleston, SC; nieces and nephews and their families. Rodney was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Roger Mosher of Appleton, Wisconsin. A memorial service will be held for family and close friends on January 28, 2012. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wuesthoff Hospice House in Rockledge, Florida, where Rod spent his final days.
