October 15th, 1952 - December 18th, 2015
Mr. Rodney G. Schrell Sr., 63, of Palatine Bridge, NY, passed away Friday December 18, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam, NY. Born in Little Falls, NY on October 15, 1952 a son of Arthur E. and Lillian G. Race Schrell. He was a lifelong area resident and attended local schools. Mr. Schrell was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1973. He worked as a Self-Employed Carpenter for his entire career working in the Fulton and Montgomery County area. Mr. Schrell was a member of the VFW #3275, the AMVETS # 200 in Ft. Plain and American Legion He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and being a part of his bike group the AMVETS Riders of Ft. Plain. He is survived by his son: PFC Rodney G. Schrell Jr. of Ft. Wainwright, Alaska. Sister, Janet Looman of Canajoharie, NY. Brothers, Bradley Schrell of Ft. Plain, NY, Walter Schrell of Dolgeville, NY and Arthur Schrell of Ft. Plain, NY. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Lillian Schrell and a sister, Iona Smith. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday December 23, 2015 at 1:00PM at the Lenz and Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego St. Canajoharie, NY. Interment with full military honors will follow in Ft. Plain Cemetery, Ft. Plain, NY.
