Rogelio "Lucky" Arturo Calderon, 37, of Albuquerque, NM, beloved father, son, and brother passed away on December 25, 2016 in Laguna, NM. He died suddenly and unexpectedly due to medical complications. He was born on December 11, 1979 to Helen Ann Sanchez and Rogelio Arturo Calderon Sr. in Alamogordo, NM. He is survived by his son Angelo Nicholas Calderon, daughter Larissa Love Calderon, mother Helen Ann Sanchez, father Rogelio Arturo Calderon, sisters Maria Calderon and Elena Calderon, brother Danois Calderon, grandmother Bessie Baca Sanchez, grandmother Teresa Villavisencio, and 10 nieces and nephews. He attended Highland High school and joined the Army National Guard at the age of 17. He worked most recently as a warehouse operational manager. He was vice president of the New Mexico Niner Empire. He was a devout catholic and member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church where he volunteered and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved football, listening to music and serenading people with his favorite songs, camping and anything outdoors but above all spending time with friends and family. To Rogelio nothing was more important than family and that included not only blood relatives but anyone he shared his life with especially the Niner Empire. He always wanted everyone to be happy and to have a good time. He loved his princess 'Lala" and Ang unconditionally and without fail. He will be greatly missed by the countless people who knew him and the lives he touched. Services will be held at Our Lady of the Light Catholic Church, 4 La Luz Rd. La Luz, NM 88337 on January 6th, 2017, officiated by Fr. Alex Urena beginning with a viewing at 9:30am and services to begin at 10:30am. Burial will follow the funeral mass at Our Lady of the Light Catholic Cemetery. Funeral services provided by Riverside Funeral Home. Floral donations can be sent to Our Lady of the Light Catholic Church. Monetary donations can be made at gofundme.com under Rogelio "Lucky" Calderon. Pallbearers will be Phillip Baca, Richie Sanchez, Anthony Chavez, John Sanchez Jr., Justus LeFevre, and Nathan Calderon. Honorary Pallbearers will be Samuel Calderon, Ron Cordova, Charles "Chunky" Montano, Lionel Trancosa, Jesse Cordero, Angelo Abeyta, Johnny Sandoval, Dominic Hernandez, Clarence Martinez, Raul Martinez, Ricky Baca, Anthony Calderon, Hector Delvillar, Adriana Calderon, Dominic Calderon.
