Roger Ray Christopher

Roger Ray Christopher of Tumwater, Washington, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2019 in Chehalis, Washington, at the age of 57. A military brat, Roger was born in Okinawa, Japan on August 17, 1961 to Roger Charles and Hiroko (Sunagawa) Christopher. He was the oldest of four children. Roger had many passions in life. Despite living in Seahawks territory his entire teen and adult life, he was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. He admired Bruce Lee and was a big fan of the band Kiss. One of his favorite past times was playing cribbage. Roger was always willing to teach someone how to play, but loved to beat them even more. Outgoing and friendly, Roger would often strike up conversations with complete strangers, netting him many friends in the end. He had a smile for everyone he met and had a kind heart that saw the best in everyone. Roger was a true family man. He spoke often with his mother and was a loving father to his daughter, Elizabeth. Liz was the apple of his eye and biggest source of joy. To say he was a proud father is a great understatement. He was never humble when bragging about his wonderful daughter. He was also very proud to be the grandfather to her three beautiful daughters, Vanessa, Danika and Brooke. Roger is survived by his daughter Liz, her husband Rob and their three daughters of Stevensville, Montana. He is also survived by his mother, and three sisters, Victoria, Christine, and Janet. Roger also had a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews all around the globe. His positive attitude, sunny disposition and frequent calls to check in will be greatly missed by those he called on a regular basis. There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, 1:00 p.m. at Masonic Memorial Park, 455 North Street SE, Tumwater, WA 98501. A private family gathering will follow.
