Roger Cook
January 27th, 1935 - March 16th, 2017
Roger Earl Cook passed away at his home in Glendale, AZ on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the age of 82 peacefully in his sleep. Roger is predeceased by his parents, Leonard Earl and Louisa Cook. Roger is survived by his loving wife Shirley of 60 years. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple, in Salt Lake City, Utah on November 27, 1957. Roger is lovingly remembered by his wife Shirley; sons Shaun and Jason (wife Dawn) Cook; daughters Shelley (husband Joe) Micko and Jennifer Ann "JAC" Cook; Grandchildren Brittany, Breanna, Connor, and Carson: great grandchild Haylee; brother Douglas Cook; sister Donna Parker; and loving nieces, nephews and other relatives. Roger was born in Ogden, Utah in 1935, to Leonard Earl and Louisa Cook. He graduated from Ogden High School in 1953. Roger served his LDS mission in the East Central states from 1955 - 1957; he then went on to attend Weber State University and earned his Bachelors of Science degree from Brigham Young University in 1964. He worked several jobs including a teaching assignment in Temple View, New Zealand; he then went on to have a successful career as an Insurance Agent in Phoenix, Arizona. Roger loved people, he enjoyed helping them plan their futures, while protecting their families. This made Roger one of the top independent Agents in the state. Roger enjoyed the outdoors, sports (especially football), and spending time with his family. Roger was a faithful member of the LDS church and he happily served several callings including; Bishop for the Phoenix 4th Ward, and Bishop for the Temple View, New Zealand ward. Rogers's services will be held at the LDS church at, 5250 W Thunderbird Rd, Glendale, AZ 85306 on Saturday March 25, 2017 at 11:00 am with Bishop Mark Mabee officiating.
