Roger Allen Crawford, 60, passed away at his Ft. Lupton, CO home on May 17, 2012. He was born on September 7, 1951 in Brighton, CO to D.C. and Velma (Arnold) Crawford and attended high school in Ft. Lupton. Roger lived and worked in the Greeley/LaSalle area during the 1970's and 1980's and could be found regularly playing softball on teams from the Garden Kitchen and Moose Lodge 909. He moved to Erie, CO then to Northglenn, CO in the 1990's where he spent many hours of service at the Northglenn Moose Lodge. He was highly respected and endeared to fellow Moose members earning election to numerous offices and chairmanships including Lodge Governor in 2005-2006. Roger had a helping heart and was always extending a hand to and with his fellow Moose brothers, family, friends and co-workers. His declining health and work demands limited his volunteer time the last few years as home, family, and close friends shared his precious free time. His dog, Jiggs, accompanied him and rode shotgun is his pickup for work and trips to the hardware store. Jiggs followed Roger everywhere. Another favorite pastime was tilling, mowing and landscaping his mini-ranch east of Fort Lupton, with Jiggs riding beside him on the tractor. Roger was employed by A&W Water in August of 1999. Respected and admired by his managers and co-workers Roger worked his way from truck driver to dispatcher and to a supervisory role for the past several years. His hulking frame and jovial extended hand along with a raspy, often loud smiling greeting will be missed by all who knew him. Survivors are his team companion and special friend Carol Bjorklund of Ft. Lupton; his mother Velma Seaman of Greeley; beloved daughters, Stacy Burk and grandchildren Trevor, Tylor, Zack, Dylan, and Brayden of Platteville, CO and Stephany Wood and grandchildren Shelby, Shylo, Brandon and Saydee of Greeley,CO; brothers Tom (Manoli) Crawford, Larry (Teri) Crawford of Greeley, Danny (Deb) Crawford of LaSalle; sisters Vada (Jimmy) Roedel of Fort Lupton, Phyllis Crawford of Greeley, and Jeanette (Mike) Scott of Fort Lupton. He is also survived by his great grandchild, Bella Potter, of Thornton, CO and numerous nieces and nephews. Much loved by all. Roger was preceded in death by his father, D.C. (Dick) Crawford and stepfather, George M. Seaman. A celebration of life service will be at Grace Church, 6400 W. 20th Street in Greeley at 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 23, 2012. Following the service, family and friends are all invited to a reception at the Greeley-Evans Moose Lodge. Memorial contributions may be made to the "Moose Lodge” in care of Adamson Funeral Home, 2000 47th Ave. Greeley, CO 80634. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.adamsonchapels.com .
