Roger Fields

Roger Keith Fields, 66, of Frederick, CO, formerly California, died Friday, February 26, 2016 at home surrounded by his family. We have been so blessed having Roger as an important part of our lives for all these years. We will miss him so very much. The central part of Roger’s life was Casey and their family. His children and grandchildren were the joy of his life. Casey and Roger were a loving team facing the world together. Roger was a man of faith. He grew up on a farm in Indiana and stayed connected to those values of hard work and respect for the earth. We were blessed by his love of music. He sang with his school choir and won awards at Indiana state competitions. Roger sang to us at weddings and funerals and directed children in joyful Christmas and Easter productions at church. Roger playing the piano and signing was the centerpiece of family time. Roger was a skilled carpenter, builder and contractor. Roger built the cabin with the Crockers, a worship building for his church, a garage and house additions for the Cooks. He skillfully refurbished and refinished furniture. A recent joy to him was building a deck with Mike. He worked for many years in the contracting business. Another amazing talent was auto, motorcycle and boat mechanics. Roger’s quick wit and sense of humor was a cornerstone of his personality. He kept us amused by perfect impersonations of famous people. His clever ironic comments were always right on target. Playing cards and games were an important of family weekends and parties. What great times we had together. Recreation included fishing, boating and camping. Roger was the organizer. He planned, shopped, packed, drove and set up camp in beautiful places. Memories of these times are cherished. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, March 5, 2016, Carroll-Lewellen Funeral Home Chapel, 503 Terry St., Longmont, CO.
