Roger Eugene Inman
June 11th, 1936 - February 29th, 2024
Roger Eugene Inman was born on June 11, 1936, to Stella and Allen Inman.
Roger grew up on a farm near Griswold, Iowa, and served in the Navy from 1956 – 1960 where he learned electronics. After leaving the Navy Roger went to work for US West Telephone Company for 30 years as Manager of the ESS of the North Denver Area.
During that time, Roger married Maxine, his wife of 45 years.
Roger was a volunteer at the Colorado Sierra Fire Department and received the Firefighter of the Year award in 1993.
Roger enjoyed his hobby of woodworking and made many wood projects for his wife’s tole painting shop in Broomfield, Colorado. He jokingly commented that he “made wood projects for 100 girlfriends to paint.”
Roger loved the mountains, camping and hunting. Upon taking early retirement, Roger and his wife Maxine enjoyed traveling and camping as ‘snowbirds,’ where they enjoyed the company of many friends. Eventually settling in Arizona for over 20 years, Roger enjoyed 4-wheeling and exploring the desert with his wife and friends. Roger was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Kingman, AZ.
Recently back in Colorado, Roger enjoyed visiting with family and friends.
Roger is proceeded in death by his Mom and Dad, brother Robert, and son Brian.
Roger is survived by, and will be sadly missed by his wife Maxine, son Paul (Jill) Inman, daughter Sheri (Ray) Sedillo, stepdaughter Terri (Kevin) Pederson, stepson Gregg (Val) Sumey, and grandchildren Shane (Erin), Samantha, Jennifer, and Steven, as well as other family and many longtime friends.
Memorial Service with Navy Honors will be held for Roger on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 11:00AM at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Blvd. Colorado Springs, CO 80925.
