Roger Maddox
June 10th, 1935 - September 3rd, 2012
Roger Maddox Roger, 77, passed away September 3, 2012, in Rochester, Wash. He was born June 10, 1935, to Carl and Beulah Mae Maddox in Storm Lake, Iowa. In 1955, he graduated from high school in Adna, Wash., and was a barber in Randle, Wash., until 1968. From 1968 to 2002, he worked at Maple Lane School, first as a cottage parent and then in security and transportation. He married Lauraine Hamilton on January 14, 1974. Roger was a fair man who could calm any volatile situation, which proved very valuable while working at an institution like Maple Lane School. Outside of work, his life revolved around his family. He raised Bantam Show Chickens with his grandson Rory, and raised and showed Miniature Horses with grandchildren Kayla, Tanja, Morgan and Logan. He also loved his Pug Dog Sabine and Dacie Dog Shaq. Roger is survived by his wife, Lauraine L. Maddox; sons, Rory (Patty) Maddox Sr. of Winlock, WA, and Brian (April) Hamilton of Tumwater, WA; daughters, Robyn Fort of Chehalis, WA, and Trina Hamilton of Oakville, WA; grandchildren, Rory (Laurie) Maddox Jr., Kayla Hansen, Morgan Hamilton, and Logan Hamilton; great grandchildren, Kassidy, Maggie May, and Eli Maddox; sisters, Beverly Smith of Centralia, and Deloris Cox of Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents; and granddaughter, Tanja Marie Hansen. Memorial donations may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation.
