April 20th, 2013
Roland D. Clarke passed away on April 15th, 2013 at the age of 62. He was born in Portland, Oregon on July 10th, 1950. Roland lived most of his life in Eugene, graduating from Churchill High School. He worked for Emerald Pool and Patio before moving to Seattle, where he built baseball fields. He then moved to Minnesota where he owned his own business supplying parts and machinery to the railroads. He returned to his hometown of Eugene where he married Charlene Wallis. He worked for InnSight Hotel Management before starting his own business, Asset Maintenance Group. Roland loved to work, most often with his faithful dog Charlie by his side. He enjoyed spending time with his wife working at their Happy “Our” Ranch, which included rescued potbelly pigs, horses, donkeys, chickens, dogs and cats. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and always managed to crack them up with his quirkiness. Roland is survived by his wife of seventeen years Charlene Wallis, his stepson Dan Wallis and wife Vanessa, stepdaughter Rachelle Nicholas and husband Steve and his grandchildren Kyler, Taylor and Jacob Wallis and his nieces Tara and Joey Clarke and their children, who loved him very much.
