Rolland Odell Bolton

Rolland Odell Bolton’s Obituary Rolland Odell “Rockin’ Rollie” Bolton of Arvada, CO passed away on December 17th, 2023, at the age of 92. He loved his family, his music, his coin and stamp collections, and the outdoors. Rolland was born in Dayton, Tennessee, on June 26th, 1931, to Pearl Alexander Bolton and Rollin Lyford Bolton. Rolland’s father was a lay Pastor and a Sharecropper by trade. At age 20, Rolland enlisted in the military and was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1955. Following graduation from the University of Kansas (Rock Chalk, Jayhawk!), he was a traveling College Textbook Salesman, predominantly covering Colorado and Wyoming territories. Rolland earned many awards and recognitions during his career. Rolland had many hobbies and passions. He was passionate about rock & roll music, loved taking notes on his favorite artists, and hosted his monthly Rockin’ Rollie parties with his neighbors. Rolland loved spending time in the great outdoors, hiking and exploring. He was always in great shape and visited his favorite fitness center daily. Rolland made friends everywhere he went and was always happy to lend a helping hand. He was always close to his family and helped his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in any way he could. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Eloise Barthuly Bolton; children, Gregory Alan Bolton (wife, Annulette) and Leah Bolton Stark; grandchildren, Cameron George Stark (wife, Summer), Sarah Annulette Ferlin (husband, Aaron), Kathryn Evans Bolton, Ashley Elizabeth Stark; great-grandchildren, Margaret Anne Ferlin, William Beau Ferlin, and Emma Griffin Stark. Rolland is preceded in death by his parents, Pearl Alexander Bolton and Rollin Lyford Bolton; and sister Virginia Bolton Clack (husband, Raleigh). Following a memorial service in Arvada, CO, Rolland will be laid to rest at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, CO. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your favorite charity.
