Ronald Joseph Hamilton, 46, of North Port, Florida passed away Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital after a 3 year battle with leukemia. Ron was born May 26, 1965 in Central Falls to Carol and Ronald Hamilton. Ronald and his wife, Ginger, moved to Sarasota County six years ago from Coventry, Rhode Island. He worked as a construction project manager, and loved the beach, sailing, and football. Ron is survived by his wife, Ginger Hamilton; his mother, Carol Bresnahan; his brother, Wayne Hamilton; his son, Conner; his step-children, David Hibbs, Stacy Hibbs, and her son, Marcus Caparco; his brother-in-law, Col (Ret) Jim DeStout and his wife, Betty; his sister-in-law, Marjorie DeStout, RSM; his sister-in-law, Joanne Distasio; his nephews, Ian and Kyle; and his niece Olivia. Mass will be held to celebrate Ron's life at San Antonio Catholic Church, 24445 Rampart Boulevard in Port Charlotte, FL on Saturday, January 28 at 11:00AM. Flowers may be sent to San Antonio Catholic Church the morning of January 28 by 10:00AM or donations may be made in loving memory of Ron to the Leukemia Society, Suncoast Chapter, 3507 East Frontage Road, Suite 300, Tampa, FL 33607.
