Ronald Edward Akers
Born October 3, 1947, Passed away June 7, 2024. Ron graduated from Mountainsville High School in 1965, joined the Navy in 1966, then went to ITT Technical Institute.
He became a Regional Manager for Peoples' Telephone Cooperative Inc. from 1991-1994 in Bedford, Virginia. He also did remote maintenance and tech services (RMATS) for businesses and 911 services at Southwestern Bell from 1985-1992 in St. Louis, Missouri.
Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene (Earnheart) Akers, his parents, Paul and Nola (Hepworth) Akers, his sister Sharon (Akers) Kindred and his brother, Robert Akers.
He is survived by his sister Christine (Akers) and her husband Randy Lamar, son, Todd Young, step-daughters, Harmony Weatherford and Miriam Kurvink, seven grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
Services will be held at a later date.
